We had to stop in at ABC Carpet & Home when we were in NYC last weekend. We squeezed in a visit (along with Leslie of AT:SF) just before heading out to the airport last Sunday evening. It is a must-do I suppose: it turns out that the editors at AT:LA stopped in too...
With so much to see (and so little time!) on multiple fantastic floors, one thing was our focus for photos - colorful patterned furniture pieces.

We need an ABC Carpet & Home in every city!

Oh My God! I want everything in pictures 1 thru 3! Can you tell me why ABC doesn't have a better website, where I can drool from the comfort of my own home?

Probably because they have so much merchandise. It really is stuffed to the gills with items. Chandeliers, dishes, furniture, jewelry, textiles. And that's just the ground floor. You walk in and are dazzled from the threshold.

ABC is my favorite store in the world....It's just too bad the prices are as "precious" as the merchandise....Ain't nothing cheap here.
The former founder (i.e: ex-husband) of ABC has a store in LA called "Buttercup"...also worth the trip.

Oh, you can find some gems in there. I saw an oversized hundai a few months ago for $28. Big enough to suspend from the ceiling. Not one of the complicated blown glass inside of wrought iron ones, but it was unbelievable. And some of their cushions are quite affordable.

WIEDER is a surprise - in spite of its minimalist looks it offers excellent comfort, thanks to high quality filling and wooden slats in the seat. Roomy and comfortable while not taking up too much space. Even more surprising is the ease with which the sofa converts into a double bed. http://www.wiederusa.com/
