Chicago's Garden in a City was held last week. We went on Friday and saw some inspiring landscaping ideas (more posts to come).
This entry, from Chicago Speciality Gardens, was the official first place prizewinner. Entitled "The Living Rooftop Movement", it was inspired by the creative use of the city's rooftops for environmental and recreational purposes. The natural materials and simple spacial levels made it modern and luxurious.

That's really nice! Very inspiring, even for those of us without a rooftop!
How awesome! I shudder to think how expensive this would be, though.
Looks really nice and, as Kathryn suggests, probably pretty expensive. Small(er) spaces are really nice to landscape and create into a "room." One doesn't even need a rooftop for that.
SOOOO amazing!! I love just looking at these photos, it makes me feel all serene and Zen. Don't you just want some green tea now? :)
