An afternoon coffee stop ran us into this rough-hewn pillar that felt very fall. From a distance, the texture looked like weathered, rustic wood. It’s actually odd bits of slate.

This single focal point popped against the deep brown walls. Fitted by hand with a serious epoxy, it’s actually a fairly uncomplicated DIY that would be a great use for leftover stone. ReUse Center anyone?

I like it! The texture, the colours, wonderful! This picture and the picture of the wooden slats wall a few posts ahead of this one are giving me ideas! I have been toying with the idea of putting up wooden borders across my wall but after seeing these pictures maybe I should just cover up the whole thing!

That is really cool! I wonder if the epoxy is scary? Even so, it seems worth it!
