Tired of putting multiple nail holes in the wall? So were these homeowners in Kansas City. They display their artwork on a railing that blends right in with the wall. Click through the jump for a better look at this trio of hanging frames (which is totally interchangeable and can be added to whenever the mood strikes!)

In this method of hanging artwork on the wall a rail is used along with small hooks that slide across wherever they are needed. The rail and the hooks are painted the same color as the wall to make the installation minimal to the eye.
In this case, the photographer (Steve Schaub of Kansas City) used three different lengths of fishing line to make the pieces appear to float on the wall.
We think it's a great way to allow yourself to have an art collection without putting a new hole in the wall each time a new piece is brought home. Great job!

What if you don't have the picture rail? And, the clips look like big paper clips.
I can see it if you live in an apartment and can't put nails everywhere, but it's sort of unattractive. Although when I rented, I hung art anywhere, anyway, and just dealt with the holes before I moved out.
Now that I own my own condo, I still hang art anywhere I want. When I want to move a piece, holes are easily covered with spackeling and a little dab of paint. No big deal.

It's a good solution for those of us with ancient lath and plaster walls who rent from landlords who really don't want damage to the walls. =)

When you are in the room it isn't even noticeable....
I had to adjust the pictures for you to actually be able to see the items!
