Look! White Pots

look-whitepots.jpgWe inherited a bad yard. Unfortunate, but true. So while we try yet another year of making the backyard into something special, we find comfort that at least the front of the house can be snappy.

This year rather than our usual terra cotta pots, we opted for white pots and we're surprised by how much curb appeal they add. We bought these pots from Ikea, and are really enjoying the contrast they add to our brown stairs. Having red plants in the planters add a nice punch of color, as well.

Here are a few white pots and planters we like:

Nothing makes a plant look better than a bright, white pot!

Just a little tip about some cheap white pots...went to IKEA last thursday (Ft. Lauderdale, Florida) and the set of Varen pots (set includes 3 in various heights) are on sale from 14.99 to a ridiculous .99 cents for all three! They are with the summer seasonal stuff by the checkouts.

Why not take a standard terra cotta pot, apply crackle medium, and paint them white?

They will take on a charming vintage look as if they've always been there.

Hey i just bought some white pots from IKEA this weekend too! I have a lime green plant that I had with a pot that had different color stripes. I needed to repot it because it was getting pretty big so I bought the KARDEMUMMA white pot with horizontal stripes and the plant just looks ALIVE against the white.

I also purchased 3 small white BILLOG pots with 3 small plants for my office. Looks really clean and fresh.

Here are some with a style that might be better fitting for those older classic style homes. They're white or very close to it and in my own opinion look better than shiny white plastic.

Here's two that aren't white but I linked to them because a lot of people like the "wood barrel" look - these are fiberglass and won't rot.

MiLeLa - that's cool. I'm sorry I thought the posts in the picture looked plastic. I looked at the actual links and realized my mistake. I just assumed that anything that shiny must be plastic.
