OK. This isn't the most exciting thing ever, but one of our scores at a recent demolition sale was this little yellow pendant lamp ($5) that belonged in the previous owner's basement workshop. After cleaning it up and bringing it back to life, we decided to hang it on our enclosed porch. Not only does it look cute if we see it from outside or from inside the house, but it gives us a little light in the backyard at night. We think of it as a great "rescue item." What's your most recent rescue?

thats awesome, love the color.

I had a very similar light in red in my bedroom when I was a kid. My mom had it power coated white in the '80s and I'm not sure where it went now.

i "rescued" a nice table lamp from a yard sale for .25! It sparks when you turn it on.. so I think im going to gut an older, uglier lamp for it's non-sparking wiring and fix up the new one! hooray for 25 cent yard sales.

I found an old lead crystal lamp at the Nantucket dump that works. And I had just bought a shade at Goodwill a week before that didn't fit the lamp I bought it for and was headed back to Goodwill and it fit this "new" lamp. Talk about happy chance.
