Luna: The Light + Air Door

071006luna.jpg

We got a reader tip on Friday about this Light + Air door, Luna. Then this morning we saw Luna on AT: New York, so it appears to be following us around and really wants to be noticed. Okay! We're noticing. We realize the door's purpose is for the option of light and air, but it feels like peep holes gone crazy. Plus, why not just open the door if you want light and air? (But that's just us.)

The door's character is, yes, "mysterious" and "suprisingly functional" (as described on the seveon02 website), but we'd like to see it at work in a real home. Which room(s) do you think it would best suit?

In a home I think this is a bit silly- perhaps for office conference rooms where pricacy is needed but a bit of ventelation is wanted...

It's a bit too "we did it because we could" withour actually having a practical funciton...

I would use that as a front door. We have little kids and they can bust right through a screen door if they want to, and escape into the street with a totally open door, but it would be nice to have a little bit more ventilation.

It serves the same purpose as an interior louvered door that you might find in the tropics or other warm weather climates, only in a cleaner more sophisticated way. It's nice to have the option.

This would also make a nice closet door. Or even better, it would be great for the furnace room where ventilation is needed.

I could see using it as a front door, though I agree that the best design might be in the office, where the ventilation is most welcome (and any bit of sunlight a total bonus).
