Retro Inferno is located on the corner of Grand and Truman Road, on the edge of the Crossroads District of Kansas City. They buy and sell in their 11,000sq ft showroom, some of the best Mid Century pieces this side of the Mississippi.
Click through the jump for more fantastic photos of the treasures found inside this great vintage building!

You will find lighting, glassware, sculpture, furniture, rugs, collectibles and home theater pieces that all reflect a classic 20th Century vibe.
Retro Inferno is packed to the gills and uses a shopper friendly second floor to hold everything that they are unable to display in their main show room. Stop in and say hi to owner Rod Parks as he lets you roam free in the classic mid century jungle that is his store.

The large "Inferno" letters in the front window set the tone for the store.

Chairs are often stacked on tables (which are of course protected) to help display as many pieces as possible.

A fiberglass dining set that would be perfect in a small space.

Most accessories and small lighting is a steal of a deal, so don't forget to check out what's on the tables/shelves when you visit.

The second floor holds mainly chairs with the occasional lamp or credenza.

It's a big sea of "Oh how fabulous! They must come home with me!"

These two were already sold and headed to new homes.

In stores of this nature, there is always that one piece that makes you scratch your head and say, "Huh, I didn't know they made such a thing."

Retro Inferno is located seconds (literally) off Interstates I-70 and I-670, so there is no reason not to visit on your next trip to K.C.!

You mention that smalls and lighting are priced favourably - how about the furniture? If the deals are there this would be a good detour when I'm headed down to St. Louis later this summer.

Fabulous post with lots of helpful pictures! I no longer live near the KC area, though I once did, but enjoy seeing what's available there now for the mid-century lover.

Tobermory- The furniture is also listed at pocketbook friendly prices. They aren't giving it away, but I know that I have always been amazed at the lack of inflation that pieces in their condition usually carry. Where at other stores they would have been listed for twice the price.

Wow! I can only think of one word right now: ROADTRIP. Seriously! I wonder how much a U-Haul would cost from KC to Northern California......
