Weekly starting January 09, the show is currently seeking creative types to submit video proposals.
Is it time to show the world how you rigged a solar-powered fridge or made a fine, fab cassette-covered project like the one pictured? Your time has come. The victor receives a $50 Make gift certificate but more importantly, the love and admiration of their peers. Yet another sign that DIY's time has come and economic slowdowns are good for creativity.

But the show would have been in development and production way before the recent events in the economy, so prattling on about creativity and poverty going hand in hand is nonsense.
It's great that the show is airing; the Etsy/DIY/hand-made generation are to be commended.
But stop with the whole silver lining happytalk.

Uh, usually you don't get anything for such tv appearances. After all, this is public television, so $50 is great!
The recent events in the economy have been in development for years.
