At the beginning of August, we asked if any of you would be interested in joining our wine drinking and cork saving efforts. Thanks to Katie, we looked into contributing our cork habit to the Chicago Park District, who will recycle the cork for planting and gardening.
We just heard from Steven, horticulturist at the Lincoln Park Conservatory, who will happily accept our donations directly.
And, Katie learned that True Nature Foods in Edgewater is collecting corks to donate to the park district (so we can decide to go through True Nature or straight to the conservatory itself).
What we'd like to do:

You should throw a little pre-Holiday soiree so we can bring you all our hard-earned corks and get a few more in the process!
those were my thoughts exactly, kathryn! for some reason, i just didn't write it...
we'll certainly be in need of an AT soiree by then. we polled about 20 interested cork savers the first time around, maybe a party would bring even more people out with their corks. thanks for the suggestion!
there definitely needs to be a pre-Holiday/cork gathering soiree! go call!!
whoops meant good call, not go call. need more coffee.
