DWR Competitions Reminder: Champagne Chair and Modern+Design+Function

Two DWR competitions, one local and one national. One is all about designing small and the other is about the next big thing.

Modern+Design+Function - Chicago Furniture Now:It's the third year for this contest, created to celebrate and promote new ideas in modern furniture design in the Chicago area. The competition is juried by professionals in the design field and the top 20 - 25 entries will be exhibited at an upcoming reception. The application deadline is January 12, 2007. Details are here.

Annual Champagne Chair Contest: It's that time of year again, where lowly champange corks are transformed into models of innovative chair design. DWR and Veuve Clicquot have partnered to make this bubbly competition accessible to all, even those of you who don't drink champagne (kits are available in Studios with everything you need to enter). Winning designs recieve DWR gift certificates and there is a national tour to show them off. Deadline is January 15, 2007.Details are here.
