If you remember our call for corks back in August, then you'll know that we have been drinking wine and saving corks ever since. From our original poll, there were 21 of you interested in helping out with our cork donation to the Chicago Park District (they'll use the corks for spring planting). Are you still out there?? We've decided on a time and place to gather with our corks, share a glass of wine, and hopefully get a few more corks in the process. Info below:

I didn't join back in August, but I have been diligently collecting corks on my own since last year (I had delusions of craftiness). Can I bring my rather large collection of corks even though I didn't sign up in August?
Thanks!
Gwen
Gwen:
Of course! No official sign-up required. The more people and the more corks, the merrier.
Look forward to seeing you there.
I missed the original call to arms as well - but seeing this post made me think of the book "Cork Boat"...about, well, you guessed it, a boat made out of corks!! A fun read if you are interested in a story about not letting go of your dreams - no matter how strange they seem.
Speaking of corks, i'm looking for cork suppliers/distributors that have sheets of cork for sale to the general public-not floor tiles. These sheets can be bent to form S-Shaped furniture. Does anyone know where I can obtain them? They are considered 'waste' products and could be purchased inexpensively for that reason.
I'd like to try my hand at furniture design using sustainable materials. Thanks, Em
I only have 3 corks saved! Ha!!! Pretty pathetic. I'm not sure I'll be able to make it or not.
