September Is Kids' Design Month...and Then Some

091806renegadeposter.jpgAs our quest for good kids' design rolls on, we continue to look to you (and the streets of Chicago) for inspiration. We're hoping to see some great kids' bedrooms, before/after nursery photos, or get tips for modern kids' design in the city.

Beyond kids, though, we're gearing up for fall, and the changing styles that accompany the changing season. We're looking forward to October, when our Fall Colors Contest gets underway and the contest really kicks off at our October 5 CB2 event. In other news, this past weekend Janel and I hit up the Renegade Craft Fair in Wicker Park and saw a lot of great stuff...some familiar from last year's fair while others were wonderfully new to us. Look for photos, thoughts, and links to vendors' websites this week.

After such a lovely couple of days, we're curious:

Picked up a couple cute things at Renegade, including one really great print. I don't have it here so I'm not sure of the artist's name. I was annoyed by the overabundance of note cards. I met the girls at Craft: and they were very cool. I considered buying a "ORD LGA" tshirt but I didn't care for the colors. Does anyone know the name of that artist/company?

Then we went to East Chicago for some Blackjack and it was classy with a capital K. But we had fun and won some money.

Heahter, I guess I just missed you and Janel at Renegade. Bummer! Hope you had a great time. Lovely weather (at least on Saturday!).

I actually thought the number of note cards went down this year compared to years previous. And it was nice to see a few new vendors.

I did not make it to Renegade, but if you are talking about the ORD-LGA shirts that were featured in TimeOut a month ago, contact this guy: george@hubwear.com or check the website www.hubwear.com

i also thought there was a decrease in stationery/notecards, which was a nice change. i would have liked to have seen more cute purses and dresses. i really wanted to buy a shirt from maryink, but i hate those inside-out seams. blech.

i also got a really neat print from a nice girl and her italian-sounding boyfriend or partner in crime. my big splurge, though, was a pair of those ribbon-tie shoes with the wooden soles. i wanted a pair last year, but didn't buy them. this year i couldn't pass them up.

all in all, i thought renegade was pretty good this year!

Just a bit of info regarding hubwear and the ORD-LGA t shirts. Every flight has a story. A long distance relationship, a family vacation, or for many, just a trip home. Hubwear t-shirts lets you tell it.

Presenting for the first time at the Renegade Craft Fair Holiday show, where we'll our ridiculously cute line of kids shirts. The airport codes are in lowercase, of course.

BTW, thanks to Kathryn for providing a link and info to hubwear. I need more people like you :-)
