This week we're getting ready here at the AT offices, hammering out the prizes, our own editorial projects and doing something novel: establishing six winning categories. Instead of three or four top places, we're going to be looking for winners in the following categories...
• Best Use of Fabric
• Best Use of Paint or Finish
• Biggest Wow Factor
• Most Likely to Be Widely Copied
• 2 More - TBD by the judges when we see what we get

OK, I'm in. I bought two huge rolls of carnival mirror (each 3 feet by 5 feet) for $29. Now I'm looking for two huge vintage picture frames (or hardware store molding if I get stumped) to put the carnival mirror inside. The idea is to have one "thin" and one "fat" image distortion in my hallway. It's the cheapest way I can think of to liven up the dark passageway (real mirrors that size would be MUCH more expensive). And hopefully it'll be fun, not creepy, when it goes up.

I am going to be completing the refinishing of my thrift store nightstand. I started stripping it before the holidays, but got lazy. It's totally something that *could* be done in a weekend if one plans properly (i.e. not like me!).

I will be rehabing an old dilapidated, ugle entertainment center into a great bar and china cabinet in my dining area.
