I loved Top Design, it's god-ages better than anything on HGTV (and about the same quality of Divine Design and some Painted House). That plus being able to watch many styles on the same show, it's pretty refreshing. It IS still a contest-based show, in Bravo style... meaning too much drama and looooooong pauses; but overall, I'd rather watch a marathon of TD than any other show on the network OR HGTV.

I'm in.

I think I'll tune in just to check out what Kelly Wearstler wears next. Some of her outfits last time were, well, interesting. Or perhaps she's just too progressive for a simple southern girl such as myself...

PS-- India Hicks looks like a giant in that photo.

If a contestant loses for that episode they are crushed by the ginormous India Hicks and her heels of punishment.

I will definitely be watching - though I hope Jonathan Adler drops his "see you later decorator" line.

Heehee, I love these comments. I'm quite sure I'll get sucked in again. I think it's a great idea to replace Oldman as the host, I think he has great designs, but his personality seems to mellow to be hosting the show. I'm also sure that, at the very least, I will be tuning in to see what wacky outfit Kelly Wearstler wears.

I'm just glad that Top Design doesn't go the route of Design Star with the loony challenges "Design a room using Automobile Parts/Pet Store Items/Food" where everything ends up in landfill and every room contains at least 3 items from IKEA.

No thanks. That's show is great if you want to see the same modern looking room over and over again but sadly that's not everyone's taste. The only time the designers (but not all of them) ever really broke off of that was for the kid's room challenge. Otherwise color me bored for the same yawn inspiring room week after week. I get much more inspiration looking at photos people take of their apartments and post AT and they are real rooms people can live in. As for Top Design, I crown thee deleted from my Tivo.

I will give it a go-better with some help for Todd-now about that furniture he made for lazy boy-man was that ugly

i will be there.....it was interesting to see what they came up with every week. Being a Int. Design student I wish school was more like that. But, as much as I love Todd Oldham, he was just too monotone.....( no offense Todd) Keep the great judges. LOSE "SEE YOU LATER DECORATOR"----- interior designers are not always decorators and vice versa, It's TOP DESIGN not TOP DECORATE.

I don't have much to say about Margaret Russell (same thing in every Elle Decor) or Jonathan Adler except that he's somewhat overrated. Meant in the nicest way possible, his style is just a re-hash of the 60's & 70's, nothing new or inspirational, though I do like some of his more classic and playful pieces. Kelly Wearstler on the other hand is truly gifted. Whether you like her style or not, she is brave & takes risks with her work. Though there is a hint of hollywood regency, it is a style all her own. It would be interesting if they replaced some of the judges with more reputable, influential designers, who would you pick? For now, I'll keep watching b/c of Kelly :)
