Montreal, 2007
In 2007, Montreal saw an early snowfall. We were visiting in November last year and remember the snow that was dumped on the city during the short stay. It surprised us then, but we're surprised now, too. We're sure we caught glimpses of flurries at a few different times throughout the day today...
Was it just us being paranoid or did anyone else see flurries, too? Are Montrealers expecting an early snow again this year?
When it seriously starts snowing in Montreal, the snow is removed instead of simply being pushed aside. The snow is trucked away, to dumping sites outside of the city. For lots more on Montreal's snow removal, see this detailed description and photos from Chicagoan in Montreal. Photo: Kaiser's Blog
Yes I did see some snow today! and the snow isn't usually dumped out of the city but on various sites in the city.

Yeah, that's awesome that MTL does that. Ottawa sure doesn't! In the outskirts there's room for it, but right downtown it just piles up on the sidewalks and floods the smaller streets in the spring.
And apparently it snowed in North Bay the other day!

We had flurries in Toronto too. And I'm so NOT ready for winter. :-(

You are correct, those were definitely flurries! Be afraid!!! You can't really predict if we're going to have an early snowstorm until the day you'll wake up one morning and won't be able to see outside. But again, 2 years ago, we didn't even have snow on Christmas Day.
Just get your shovel and winter tires ready! :)

2 years ago it was colder in San Francisco than Montreal at Christmas time. There was a drop of snow yesterday but you have to wait for the real first snowfall for everyone to realize we get snow and go put on their snowtires. always be careful after the first storm

Oh yes, that was snow. :)
Let's hope we don't get as much as last year this time around. At the end of winter, it cost $50 000 more than the amount that was planned to have all the snow removed from the parking lot and the roof of the huge building where I live - a cost shared by all 182 owners, but still. Ouch.
I kind of like the snow, but I dread the icy, slippery sidewalks. The ones on McGill College street (on my daily walk to work) are always very dangerous.

But if you want to see ridiculous amounts of snow, you have to go to Quebec City!
