apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Designers Guild Online

2007-06-15-designers guild.pngTricia Guild started Designers Guild in London in 1970. We've been fans of her strong colors and patterns for years, thanks to the always good interior photographs of the products.

2007-06-15-designers guild shop1.pngWe've seriously dreamed about living in one of the amazingly high ceilinged old European apartments that the Designers Guild photo shoots always seem to happen in.

Guild's signature style is one of excess in the fabrics with neutral walls and simple furniture dressed up with bright upholstery and pillows. The pieces that fill her rooms are often a mix of vintage and modern pieces, as seen in the photos here, where chrome and glass fit with old fashioned mirrors and beds.

Chicagoans were the lucky ones for a few years - the only US Designers Guild shop was in Marshall Fields on State Street. It closed last year and now we have to join the ranks of online shoppers if we want any of the Designers Guild goodies.

Bed linens, cushions, throws, and a home fragrance line are available, along with small leather goods and DG Kids.
