Telstar makes classic Predicta-style televisions from new parts, with custom colors and cabinets.
When we first saw the Predicta television link on Bedazzled we thought it was just a site about retro television styles, but further digging revealed that they are new, fully operating sets, compatible with todays technology.
Faithful to the original "Predicta" designs but with some modern improvements, the sets are built to customers specifications by a small crew.
A niche market to say the least, but for the customers who love mid-c style and want to watch a modern dvd these are a perfect solution. Prices range from over $1000. to nearly $4000., comparable to high end televisions.
Telstar, based in Wisconsin, is the company doing the hands-on producing of these Predicta sets and they have been successful in growing the business mainly through word of mouth, often selling to customers from a waiting list.
