20070830sbartlogo.jpgDeep in the Rockies, there lives a home boutique that might be quaint (if it wasn't so enormous).

20070830sbart1.jpgSteamboat Art Company has been a purveyor of anything fun, artistic, and unusual with a western flair" for the past 30 years. With 4000 sq. ft. of display space, the shop is loaded with hand-painted glass, ceramics, candles, sculpture, jewelry, furniture, and more.

If you're in the neighborhood, you must stop by the shop to get the full effect. They're still working on their webstore but you'll get a preview after the jump...

Steamboat Art Company may not be known for subtle pieces but they are known for their glass. They have a ton of Joan Baker hand-painted panels (the Alexandria Walnut on right) as well as some inter-changable glass flower sculptures (the Jade Tree Sunburst on left).

They also have a large selection of goods made in Steamboat, such as this Salad Bowl made from Cherry wood.

Of course, wilderness-inspired items are popular. This unique hand-carved Trout Stream Table by artist William Herrick sells for $1650 but qualifies for free shipping!

SAC sells plenty of knick-knacks and doo-dads to liven up the outdoors. This 17" Double Planet Spinner is made from copper and will eventually grow into a lovely patina.

The shop wouldn't be complete without artwork themed around skiing! Snowcat Babe, this fun retro photograph by Ray Atkeson, is currently sold out but you contact them to re-stock or check out any of the other snowy shots.

Has anyone else visited this funky mountain mecca?
