I hope everyone at the Chicago site will keep our neighbors in Iowa and far western Illinois in their thoughts and prayers.

I have a friend whose house in Iowa City is flooded. She and her husband foster rescue dogs and I got my best buddy from her. Now, she and her husband are in the situation where they and their dogs are staying with friends who are further away from the river.

They have probably lost everything except what little they managed to take with them.

'member for the Apartment Therapy web redesign when there were links to some of the features, such as "Top Ten," "Good Questions," etc.?

I'm really missing these, and am wondering how others find what they are looking for on the site. I understand that one can google for these, but it would be great to be able to browse them instead of having to know what I'm looking up before I look it up...know what I mean?

I find that when I search for it on the site (say, "Good Question" "coffee table") I don't get many responses OR I get so many that it's impossible to go through them all. It would be so great to be able to just browse ALL the Good Questions.

Can anybody help?? Thanks!!

Has anyone had any trouble ordering from modernica.net? I ordered a pair of wire base tables a full week ago and I haven't gotten any response from them since the automatic confirmation. My credit card has been charged, I've got no tracking number, shipping estimate, and no response to my emails.

Are they always awful?

Bill, I know the guy that ownes Modernica and suprised they made it this big. You are not going to get zappos or amazon service. You will wait and wait but eventually the items you ordered will come. If you don't hear anything for another few days just call the showroom in LA.

I ordered from Modern Fan Co. and the service (ordering process) was great but I think it's a similar shipping situation. They just send it to you without any tracking, etc. I think if you just call they'll let you know when it has been shipped.

IS THE ODOR OF CHICAGO TAP WATER GETTING WORSE? AS WE SPEAK?!

Any ideas for efficiently filtering your entire condo. I know I could attach in-line filters at all the separate points. Just wondering if there is an easier way to do it.

Aldyth, amen to that. On a related note, I heard on the news the other night that the Red Cross' National Disaster Relief Fund is out of money since they've had to respond to so many disasters this year already. I know this isn't really apartment related, but just trying to get the word out to those who may be inclined to donate something. http://american.redcross.org/site/PageServer?pagename=ggl_main&s_subsrc=DonateToRedCross&s_src=F7FWE001&gclid=CPPkuaW7gZQCFQ4hnAod3Hf9WQ

I am in one of the Kansas towns that was hit by a tornado last week, and I can personally attest to how helpful the Red Cross has been. If you have a little something to spare, please consider a donation.

Starting tomorrow our countertops (black granite), backsplash (white beveled-edge subway tile), new sink (stainless undermount), and faucet (awesome! vintage looking polished brass) are being installed! Woohoo:)
Here are the before pics... I'll post the after Monday.

HELP!!

Can I use double sided tape under my rugs?? Will it mess up the floors (wood laminate)?

If that's not a good suggestion, then what can I use?

Sleek - how about a gripping rug pad? See the recent post on the Anthropologie crewl rug for some recommendations.
