in Apartment Therapy's first incarnation, each locale's page (i.e., New York, Los Angeles, Chicago) used to have distinctly different posts under their area. Now, in this blogesque format, posts are just randomly shuffled and put under the different areas' pages. You can see the same post in at least three different locales - only in a different placement than in the other pages. Can't AT go back to having unique posts in each unique locale page instead of just shuffling posts around all over the site? This is not a complaint. This is a heartfelt suggestion because I love this site (it's one of my top three) and miss its former inventiveness. ❤

Hey everybody - so an update to my no bathroom floor dillema (see http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/chicago/tubs-toilets-showers-sinks/chi-good-questions-help-lost-the-bathroom-floor-040689 ). We've completed the demolition and are in the process of, uh, remolition :D. I've posted some pics on flickr - http://www.flickr.com/gp/47055102@N00/8032Xu - we are a bit further along than the last pic shows (we've got the new tub in, the subfloor all replaced, the tile backerboard down on the floor and the toilet is installed, but only temporarily since it will need to come back out to tile the floor). We are presently being thwarted by figuring out how to do plumbing, but I think we get it now and have acquired all the appropriate bits and piecesto complete the installation of the tub fixtures.

It's fun, but it's less fun on weeknights after work. I'll continue to update, and thanks again for everyones input!

heather leaf - Thanks for the feedback, but you should know that the way we publish our city sites have remained exactly the same. We have the same teams and post only to our own city site, just as before. The only real difference is the addtion of "main" site, which is essentially a feed of the posts from all four cities. Our posts publish there at the same time that we post them on our home city sites. That is the only place that they also appear, not on the other cities - no random shuffling, promise!

just letting everyone know that domicile on diversey is still having their closing sale. yesterday was their "no tax" day so hubbie and i checked it out, but came out empty-handed. I did see a verona bench, and a nelson bench for under $300! Also had offi magazine tables marked down as well.

Domicile has been going out of business for a while now so most of the furniture and mirrors have been picked over. I dont know if they have any left, but they had a bunch of nice Amenity Pillows, and are willing to sell them for way below thier suggested price of $95-$105. A little polite haggling worked well for me.

Does anybody know a good Evanston or northshore rug cleaner? Time to get an Angela Adams rug cleaned. (Actually way past time...) Thank you.

I'm looking for an apartment for March 1st, does anyone know of something opening up? I'm looking in Edgewater, for 2 or 3 bedrooms. I know, it's the off season for rentals, and there's very little that's listed on Craigslist and the Reader. So, if you know of a particular gem would you mind sharing? thanks!

I'm looking for advice on where to find a nice but inexpensive area rug. My brother, who has Down syndrome, just moved into the apartment below me. People with Down syndrome do something called "self talk," which is best described as having no inner monologue. Every night for the last three weeks, I have laid in bed with my husband, trying to sleep, listening to him talk to himself... I think a rug would be a better option than murdering my brother..... :) I'm also not made of money... soo.. any ideas?

Thanks!

angrykitty, you could try overstock.com. I hesitate to recommend it because I was a bit disappointed with the colors of my rug when it arrived but they do have lots of options at good prices. Plus very cheap or free delivery, depending on the day.
