Looking for ideas on bathroom accessories. My colors of my bathroom are: orange, yellow, gold, and brown (only colors are in the towels). The bathroom itself is white and so is the shower curtain. Should I stick with white accessories (toothbrush holder, garbage can, and soap pump) or should I go with silver? I want my bathroom to be tranquil and spa-like, because it is a pretty small city bathroom.
thank you for your input!

Lolopuffs,
My bathroom is also white (spa look), with white shower curtain. For the toothbrush holder and soap dish and pump and such, I use glass ones. (got them at Ikea) http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90081389
For the garbage can, I use a wicker one, which would tie in with the browns.
hope this helps some.

I'm swapping apts. with someone at the end of the month. I've never done a swap so does anywhere here have good tips for making things run smoothly? Any DOs and DON'Ts to keep in mind?

I'd go with texture rather than color if you want the spa feeling. And natural textures are the best.

Anybody know the girl who was looking for an antique bed on CL last month? I'm thinking about one for my daughter's room and found a bunch:

Home Decorators Collection Outlet is having a pretty big sale. I've purchased from there before. The quality's not bad. I'd say on par with Ikea, maybe a little better....

Dear lolopuffs,
Here's what I did with my teeny-weeny (3 x 8, seriously!) Manhattan pre-war unrenovated bathroom:
Painted the walls pale aqua (receding, calming colour & makes the old white subway tiles look whiter).
Installed larger frameless mirrored medicine cabinet.
Installed cool frosted glass light fixture above.
All accessories are clear glass and chrome - very spa.
Installed a towel warmer on the wall - nothing more pampering than a big fluffy warm towel after a steamy shower, and it's the only heat we need in the bathroom in winter.
Towels are lovely fluffy Restoration Hardware in white - spa again, and easy to bleach the NY grime out of. Shower curtain also white.
Also we had a little jog-out in the wall under the window, and I hacked an Ikea Arkurum white wall cabinet with glass doors into a floor cabinet by putting it on legs. Bonus is that my weighing scale (also glass) slides under it.
Hope this helps! - it was a cheap and speedy fix until we gut the bathroom.
Let us all know how it goes!

Thank you for all of your bathroom comments, they are helped a lot to steer me in the right direction!
What is funny is I bought glass accessories (no picture on website) from Target a while ago, but as much as I loved them - they looked strange in my bathroom. We rent and the pedestal sink is pure white... and so are the walls... and so is the tub. Everything basically (except the floor). So the greenish color of the glass really didn't flow well. I figured I should go back and buy this type http://www.target.com/Cero-Spa-Lotion-Pump/dp/B000XGHCEI/ref=in_de_detail-buybox-with-variations/602-8488170-7924609.
Maybe I will rethink the white and try to find a glass toothbrush holder and glass soap pump. I like my towels so I will keep those (gold, yellow, orange, brown) and I like my shower curtain (http://www.target.com/White-Waffle-Weave-Fabric-Shower-Curtain/dp/B00023E5QA/qid=1218738891/ref=br_1_4/602-8488170-7924609?ie=UTF8&node=16305861&frombrowse=1&rh=&page=1)
But I will definitely think about adding a soft color on at least one wall.. and I want to add white shelves with wicker baskets to hold/store/hide things. Also I have been dying to get a pretty piece of white coral (even fake) on a shelf with a glass jar of sponges - to add to that spa feel!

I do have another question though! Just a few days ago, there was a post on great home design books to collect. But for the life of me I CANNOT find that post! I have hunted and just seem to be missing it. Can anyone provide a link?
