We recently purchased two kittens and will be getting them soon! I was wondering if anyone had any neat tips for the apartment aside from the more expensive cat furniture.

Does anyone know about paper cord/Danish cord on furniture? I got my hands on some MCM dining chairs with this fabric, and I'd like to know how to care for them, clean them, "re-weave" if necessary. Thanks!

So... are we not having a fall cure? I was really looking forward to it, but it's well into September and I haven't heard a peep about it from AT. :(
If I missed a post about it, can someone link me? I really want to participate!

Yeah, it seems like the Fall Cure is going by the wayside this year...I wonder why?

I have been asking the same question as Mrs.Mack and STLcolleen. I am totally ready for the fall cure and nothing about it yet.

I only discovered AT about a month ago so I was so excited for my first cure! Maybe they'll do a late fall/winter one? (Unlikely, I know.)

Well if they don't start one soon, we can always get one going on the flickr site.

Has anyone seen it in person or purchased it? I'm curious about the quality. The wheels look a bit dinky, but I could probably replace them.

Buenachi: If you're looking for something that will keep your kittens from ripping your furniture to shreds, I highly recommend a corrugated cardboard scratcher. My cat is in LOVE with hers, the Cosmic Catnip Alpine Scratcher:
Shortly after I got her from Anti-Cruelty, she took a liking to my sofa. So I just parked it in front of the spot she'd been scratching and she went to town on it. She'll often just lie on it and nap. It's the first thing she runs to in the morning and when I get home from work.
I actually get a kick out of the doped-up cats in leiderhosen on the cover, but you could easily paper over it so it's not such an eyesore. You can find the starter kit for under $20 and a 2-pack of replacement cardboard inserts for under $10.

I'm ready for the cure too: it is a lot easier when you cure alongside friends and the deadline spurs me just a little bit more.

I just saw this file storage cube ottoman on Target.com and I'm intrigued:
