Does anyone have this marble bar from CB2?

http://www.cb2.com/family.aspx?c=118&f=3803&q=smart&fromLocation=Search&DIMID=400001&SearchPage=1

For anyone who has it, did you have any issues with assembly? I'm having a lot of trouble getting the holes and connectors to line up, and I can't tell if it's because it's flaw in the way it was constructed or what.

I have the matching coffee table and console and didn't have any assembly problems with those pieces. Any insight from anyone with any experience with this product would be totally appreciated.

I'm thinking about getting that to use not as a bar but as a landing strip/bookshelf by the door. It's the perfect size. Let me know what happens, and how you like it. What a great price!

I just got an email from Target saying that half of what I ordered from John Derian is cancelled, not available. Huh? Half the shipment came a week after I ordered it (9/14), but the other half (3 trays and the second of 2 bird prints I ordered, the first one came though, weird) has been cancelled. Anyone know anything about this? Maybe they decided not to carry everything?

Too bad it was cool stuff and I was so excited since I collect his work...

I was wondering if you guys knew of a good storage trunk that would go well with a mid-century/modern theme. Just something for keepsakes and stuff like that. I like the Taka trunks at crate and barrel but they wouldn't go well except hidden in a basement or attic, they are just too dark and rustic for me.

Thanks,

-Mike

My copy of the book just arrived in the mail an hour ago!

Does anyone know where I can sign up for the cure? I thought they'd advertise it on AT, but I have not seen a blessed thing.

Condo Association question:

Do I have the right to opt out of a contract that requires me to use a particular television provider? My association voted to buy the service for the building and bundle it into our assessments. I don't have a TV.

Do I have any recourse?

The New York site just posted that the cure would officially start/have the sign up on Monday: http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/ny/fall-2008/the-fall-cure-join-us-next-week-064934

Trying to decide if I'll officially join or not, since I always start off and then fade away toward the end. But it is always nice to get things like the pantry cleaned and reorganized.

Painting question!
Okay, the apartment we just moved into has walls that are a cream color, then there is a thin piece of molding that runs along the walls about 4/5 of the way up, and then the rest of the wall above that is white and we have white ceilings. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to paint these walls? I would greatly appreciate it :)

@Bill G,

I don't know the answer to that but I would be interested in learning what you find out.

I would like to say that your management company would be able to adjust your assessment based on this service provided they have proof that you are not using your cable.

A couple of thoughts:

If your unit were sold, the assessment would have to be raised to allow for cable.

You may not have any recourse if the contract used all the units as leverage to determine the bulk price for cable service.

If the board has voted for this service for all of the units you may be "stuck" with it.

re: painting question... You can do whatever you want! We have mouldings like that in our bedrooms, we painted above the moulding the same color as the wall, with that moulding being left white to go with the baseboards and window moulding. (although I considered putting an awesome wallpaper up there but chickened out) I have a pic I'll post when I find it.
