I'm moving into my first real post-college apartment, plus getting married in the spring, and I don't really have a table at the moment. I know the style I want (very simple lines, dark wood) which is very popular right now, but all of the sets are really expensive. I've been checking craig's list and thrifts but don't really find anything appealing. I don't want to waste money on something I'll replace in a couple years, so I want to find something I like in the first place. any suggestions?

Keep an eye on the sample sales at the Merchandise Mart. Poke around on their website and you can get added to the email lists, I believe. There are seperate sales for the Design Center and for Gift & Home. Worth the patience - I scored a $650 coffee table for around $200.

Does anyone know if and where I can purchase The Twigs wallpaper without being a registered designer?

I'm looking for either drink charms or a classy bottle stopper as a gift. Any suggestions where to look for either?

Glurf, Pier 1 normally has some or check etsy. I am sure there are some neat ones on there

Thanks Janel! I missed that the first time through. Those plates are so pretty, but does anyone know of a set of plates that are similar to the Lenox pattern above that's a little less pricey? I would have to buy 12-14 place settings. Cha-ching!

Hey! The pack shots in the Degree ad in this thread (the Little Black Dress) came from my office! :)
