Not sure if this has been covered yet, but anybody have suggestions for neat, $20 or less design-y gifts for a boss or client?

it's a bit over 20, but i really like the Loop candelabra for $28. It was featured on here a few weeks ago. I picked one up for my boss.

Something from etsy?

Hey ATers -
I'm looking for an image that I *think* I saw on AT, but it could have been another design blog. It's the "book tsunami" pic, where someone had stacked all of their books in a circular tornado shape in the corner of the room. Ring any bells? thanks in advance!

hi glurf - if you're here in chicago, stop by the MCA giftshop - they've got great, unique things. or shop it online as well as MOMA, etc.

I recently purchased a 28 x 28 poster, and didn't realize I would have such a hard time framing it. Does anyone know where I can find square frames this size, or a cheap custom frame shop?

jamie-

do you guys have JoAnn Etc there? I had a poster that was 33x47. Not only a weird size (it's actually metric) but also quite large. JoAnn's often does special and you can get a descent price. For mine, with a nice gunmetal frame, no mat, and antiglare glass, mine was around 180. I got it at a 60% off sale, which they do each august. They did a nice job though.

Or, some places will carry a 22x28 frame, you could buy 2, take them apart (even the wood ones can be taken apart with a bit of work) and construct the frame you want.

Or any other craft sore, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, etc, should carry metal (sometimes wood) frame lengths, you buy 2 sets of the one you need. Get some acid free foamcore for the back and then get some acrylic of glass cut for it.

Or dickblick.com should sell some frame lengths and you can do it from there. they don't carry them as big as i needed, but you should be fine.
