Oh good! An open thread...

I was hoping that someone has two seconds to help me decide on a living/dining room configuration for my loft.

There are two scenarios to choose from:

A. Dining table in corner by windows

or

B. Dining table parallel to the kitchen island

It's a small living area and I know the table is big for the space but I gotta have it!

thanks!!!!!!

I'm wondering who won all those holiday giveaways. Did they pick the winners yet? Did I miss the post?

I like: B. Dining table parallel to the kitchen island

i like parallel as well. it kinda creates two rooms/areas, doesn't block the view out the window, and allows for better flow.

excellent. I've been using the "corner" scenario since I moved in and really want to switch to the parallel design.

I think it makes for better flow as well.

Thanks!

Has anyone used Way Basics' z boards? They're made from 99% recycled materials, are recyclable, and come in a bunch of colors. I just ordered 2 to make a bookcase with (I'm going to cover the back with wallpaper a la an AT posting), and since everything is 50% off right now, the total with 4-day shipping was under $100! Haven't searched to see if AT has covered them, but if you haven't seen it check it out here: http://www.waybasics.com/shop/home.php

Can someone help me find a buffet that would match this table with the wooden chairs (not the full leather chairs) upholstered in black leather?
I don't want it all to be too matchy, matchy, so I would like a buffet that looks good with the table, but is not necessarily part of the set. I just have no clue what would look good with this table.

Here's the table

Here is the design of the top of the table, 3rd picture...it looks more golden in this picture than it actually is.

Thanks!
