I'm going to renegade craft fair. I live just a few blocks from the event location, so i'm definitely showing up at opening to get the best stuff. I have never been before in past years, but im super excited!
Also, do not EVER go to target the weekend every college apparently goes back to school....there were entire aisles last nite with like one single bedspread in it! (went to the south loop target).

this afternoon's weather report didn't call for rain, but who knows in the midwest...i'm keeping my fingers crossed, because that really was a bummer last year. i hear that the special goodie bags for the early birds are going to be really awesome. too bad i don't know what any of you look like or i would say hello.

I've recently moved to Milwaukee from Boston. We ditched almost all our possessions in the move and thus we are starting our new apartment with next to nothing. I was hoping readers could recommend good sources for furniture and/or art in the Milwaukee area. I'll drive down to Chicago for things, I'm sure. But there has to be local sources I could utilize. Do you have any suggestions?

I just moved into a new condo and I need a *small* sectional sofa. Like, 80" x 90". And the absolute most that I can spend is $1500. All the sectionals that I've been seeing are either massive or out of my budget. And I'm not seeing anything workable from Craig, either.
Any suggestions?

Could anyone suggest a thin coffee table? It can be couch lengthish but I need something smaller than two feet wide as my living room is pretty small.
Im looking for something either, birch, silver, black or white to go with the rest of my decor.

ok that was the wrong measurement sorry!... i meant something more along the lines of 16" wide
I made my own at 12" wide x 48" long x 18" high from red oak slats from Home Depot (>$2.00 each) Seen Here! it took an afternoon, only hand tools (saw, hammer, drill) and recieves many many compliments.
Thanks... the chairs were so much fun to revive and of course get a ton of nods from guests. The painting isn't mine, rather it was a project for a client at my work (I work as a fine art conservator)
Oh how I wish the painting were mine... it's worth about 100 Eames Lounge chairs...sigh...

Can anyone recommend reupholstery shops in the Chicagoland area? I'm considering buying a pair of chairs from one of the Craig's list listings that was featured on AT, and know I would need to reupholster it, but have never done so. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

With the gift of an 80 degree weekend upon us I intend to visit as many antique/vintage/junk shops as I humanly can. I'm talking tourist style with bottled water and camera in hand (I'm hunting down inspiration etc for some winter furniture projects I'm cooking up)
Intevitabally I'll end up at BAM oogling over everything.

Sorry, I'm new. What's BAM?
Also, the craft fair sounds great. How early do you have to go to be an early bird?
We are Chicago transplants to Madison, WI. Any Madisonians out there that can recommend good quality furniture stores around here? we are especially looking for bookcases and dressers.
Thanks!
