Okay, this is a followup to my last messages.

LL is refinishing the hardwood floors tomorrow. I paid guys to take up the carpeting in the bedroom, now there's carpet (14yrs old) in the big livingrm (300 sq ft). I plan to have guys take up that carpet & pad, which is very emphasize very worn. Spotting, dirty, nasty, unsanitary.

Now, underneath the carpet is old restrictive tile, ugly, unattractive paint spotted tile.

What's the best cheapest thing to put over it --
I'm not recarpeting and not putting down a hdwd floor and doubt if the LL will go to the expense.

area rug?
paint the tile?
carpet squares?

Thanks all.You can em dir: wright_0048 @ yahoo.com

Meredith,
Wow, that depends on what part of the city you will be in, what kind of food you want, etc.
I'd suggest checking out www.lthforum.com which is a great Chicago restaurant resource.

I had a question. I just bought a Barcelona table for $125 on craig's wonderful list. When I got it home, I looked underneath to see if there was a stamp, and to my surprise there was a K and a P stamped into the steel at the intersection of the legs. It's all one piece and I love it regardless, but I was wondering if it's an authentic Knoll Barcelona Table. Can someone advise me on this?
