I recently read about a store that was giving a discount on low- fume paint to pregnant women. Can anyone tell me where this might be? I can't remember where I saw it. Thanks!

A few months back AT featured an artist who had this really great mod-looking painting of the "honeycomb" buildings (by House of Blues) against a bright blue background. Does anyone remeber the name of the artist or website?

Lacey B,
I think the artist you are referring to is Derek Erdman. Here is the post.

I am desperate to learn how to sew. Although I did a number of projects with my grandma when I was a kid - that was nearly 20 years ago. Does anyone have any recommendations? I live in Wicker Park and don't have a car, so a local place, or somewhere near public transit, would be best. Oh, and I work in the Merchandise Mart, so River North would also be convenient.

Does anyone know where I might find a bookcase with "x" detail on the sides? I'm looking for something almost exactly like this in form, but more elegant and less rustic. The sides can be wood or metal. I'd prefer wood shelves, but glass would be okay too.
If one were to be attending the graduate school at columbia college, what neighborhoods would be best to look into for living? I'm looking at Columbia, and need an area with the following reqs:
1. good food
2. pedestrian friendly
3. good public transportation
4. diverse
5. dog and cat friendly apartments
6. cheap since my husband will be working and I likely won't.
7. somewhat safe
Pipe dream?

No idea yet - we figure that it's a good start to find an area, and then determine where he would want to apply/work. He's a water engineer.

Several people have asked about the stainless steel notepaper roll that I have in my kitchen (seen here: http://chicago.apartmenttherapy.com/chicago/house-tours/house-tour-kathryns-loft-life-009235)
Mine doesn't have any information on it, but Blomus makes something pretty similar:

I've also seen a more expensive wooden version at Stitch http://www.stitchchicago.com/stitch/product.asp?s_id=0&dept_id=3067&pf_id=PAAAIACPBGDMBGAO&
Hope this helps!
