Crown Coat Rack

2007-04-11-crown_2.jpg

Entryway art. The crown coat rack looks airy and light and more like sculpture than a utilitarian item. Designed by Stefan Schoning, this is a brilliant solution to a small space = small closet dilemma.

2007-04-11-crown2.jpgThe sculptural crown tops three long legs steel legs which widen out to attach to a steel ring on the floor. An ingenious design; it is also sensible, sturdy and very nice to look at.

Made from steel, it comes in chrome or glossy red, white or black.

In Chicago, it's available at Orange Skin.

I think these are beautiful, but if you have to "inquire" about the price, I figure I won't be buying it.

Sorry to leave out the pricing, but Orange Skin didn't list it, and the only other source for the piece I found was in England.

Based on the exchange of what it was selling for there, my guess is around $400.
