Grid Wall Pocket

051006wallpocket.jpgLately we're really into felt and its surprising softness and durability. Last year my boyfriend constructed a 3-D felt wall covering at UIC, and we're in talks now about the possibility of a felt headboard. When we spotted this grid wall pocket, the felt won us over. With spring cleaning comes organizing, so here you go:

051006wallpocket2.jpgThe grid is a wall-mountable organizer with pockets made from die-cut and stitched recycled felt, great for home and office use. At 27" x 21", it will cost you $60 (or you could take the idea and run with it...).

I bought this for my husband and he didn't want it, so I use it in my office now. The truth is it doesn't hold enough items to be practical. I was imagining it would clear the clutter off my desk--especially ugly items I need within reach, such as a stapler--but I use it to hold paper and 4 pens. Make your own and make the pockets deeper, I say!

I think this would be great on a large scale for a headboard. I think I'd cover a large slab of plywood with some batting and then the modular felt pockets. Tuck those magazines, books and all those necessary night-stand trinkets out of sight and make a bold fuzzy statement in the bedroom.
