We've been using these micro mesh pouches in our bag for a while now. They're durable, good looking, and they come in a bunch of different sizes. Now that we're working on organizing our home, we're thinking of picking some up for our medicine cabinet and bathroom.
They'd also be great for organizing jewelry, make-up, the junk drawer, and the office. They're pretty inexpensive (available at the Container Store for $1.99 - $6.99) so we usually buy a few at once.
I use them for office supplies and when traveling.
In some brands, the very large size is big enough to hold a file folder. I have several of these that I use for work projects. It's great when you have to carry flat samples (formica chips, paint chips) or disks because they don't slide out.
