Everyone needs a place to drop their keys and sort their mail, even those who lack the luxury of a true entryway. For people who only have a corner of the wall to claim as their entrance, we've rounded up a selection of small-scale, wall-mounted entryway organizers. Within just a few square inches of space, these organizers can hold onto your keys, stash your mail, and look good while doing it...

Thank you for not using the phrase 'landing strip' in this post about entry ways!

I don't really understand why people need items like this. To my mind, it just makes more clutter. I don't ever have anything to put down when I come home. My keys are in my purse, which goes in my bedroom. My mail is opened right away, tossed or kept in a small box with a lid on my dresser. Why would anyone ever have scissors dangling? Or pencils sticking out of a cup? Those belong in the desk drawer, or a kitchen drawer.
BTW, The Vitra Uten Silo Small Organizer is heinous. I would go insane if that was anywhere in my home, with all that junk in it. I-n-s-a-n-e.

Thanks so much for this post! I have been looking for an entry way 'landing trip' for a while! One of these would be so useful in my apartment because I have a roommate and we leave the mail at the entry for each other. We also have communal keys for the storage area and the laundry room so this would be a great place to keep them. I like the Umbra Letter Wall Mount Organizer as well as the Catch All Entry Caddy, especially the latter since there is a place to leave notes. My roommate and I are so busy that sometimes we don't see each other for days! This would be a great spot to leave little notes to make sure each other are doing well, etc. I love the post! Thanks!

The number of scissors in those shots confuses me, and the open pair of scissors is just plain scary.

Oooooh! Can I have the sixty dollars?

I'm fairly certain that scissors and pens, not to mention the teabags and tea strainer, are meant as illustrations of all the fabulous *different* places one can use the cup-hook, not suggestions of things to put in an entry way. And the cup-hook is adorable, but most of those contraptions, however useful, are fugly.

Heinous and insane? About a wall organizer?
There must be some irony here...

what's wrong with the term "landing strip"?

Yes. I meant heinous and insane. No irony.
My home is so free of clutter that it looks like a motel room. While some might not like or understand that, to me it is calming and serene.
Any amount of clutter, even one piece of paper, can make me crazy.
Or rather, insane. I-N-S-A-N-E. No irony.

I love the Hookmaker with the half tea-cup. A clever design. I'd probably use it in my studio before my entryway.

I, too cringe a bit when reading the words "landing strip". It just makes me think of a bikini wax, and that's a rather unpleasant thought.
On a different note, I thought the ceramic tile cups would work great in the bathroom. I'm always tipping over (and breaking) my toothbrush cups!
