Tagines are serving dishes used in Moroccan cuisine. The conical shape allows food to retain heat without trapping moisture. They're also very smart looking (this is the Le Creuset version, available at Sur La Table and Cooking.com among other stores). Because of their unique shape, we'd move these out of the kitchen and into other rooms. Use one as a catch-all on a landing strip, or use to store jewelry in the bedroom.

A tajine is not exactly a serving dish as much as it is a cooking dish actually. And it's important to get a terracotta tajine or you are defeating the purpose of this cooking dish. Terracotta is very porous and always the flavors to build into the dish over time. A tajine needs to be used over time to build its character, which in turn gives a special taste to your stews. Enamel, metal or other such tajines are a farce.
