Hot or Not? PB Chesapeake Hammock

Who doesn't love swaying in a hammock on a quiet day? If you don't have a tree nearby, however, your hammock choices are limited to self-standing hammocks....

I doubt this "hammock" sways. Looks more like an elevated blanket.

I don't see where we are supposed to vote.

Looks really comfy, but I don't have anywhere near enough space for something that huge. I don't have a tree or a yard.

A hammock, by definition, is suspended between two points.

This is not a hammock - This is a sling.

who has the space for this?

This thing
A. Is way too big
B. Wouldn't swing the way a regular hammock does
C. Looks Cool
D. Would get all nasty when it rains
E. Is utterly impractical and really isn't nearly as cool as it looks.

Isn't really a "Hammock"...

Is bigger then what I can be morally comfortable with.

Looks comfy, in a conspicuous consumption sort of way.

Maybe if it was somebody elses and I could just hang out on it a few days...

Dierdre--

Is the correct answer "All of the Above"?

i'm 6'4" so I love the fact that it's huge. Plus, my wife could probably join me and not fall out. Bonus!

I love it, but it would take up my whole backyard!

If you have the space...Muy Caliente!

I don't care if you call it a suspended blanket lounger, I kinda like it (if I had the space). I've seen a few too many people fall off regular hammocks, especially after a few drinks! This is the nicer, more stable version, even if you have to give up the swaying motion.

Randomname: i don't think the swaying motion is a good idea anyway after a few drinks

Deandrea: that's probably why those folks fell off the hammock, in a hurry to stop the swaying! ;)

I'd never have the space, but it looks so inviting. It's the kind of thing you'd hope the nice resort you pay lots of cash to say at has, so you can curl up with a book in the sun on vacation.

Hey, the grass in my backyard is half dead anyhow...who cares if it takes up half the yard?

I like it a lot!. This wth a nice firepit on a cool night and a blanket maybe...I could fall asleep. One of my goals for my back yard is to make it so private (I live in a row house) that I could sleep out there and nobody would ever know. This fits the bill. It would take up a good portion of my back yard, but it would be worth it.

Obviously in the minority here, but are you kidding me? Seems like a waste of space and a waste of material. The green and print are overdone this season and the mix of prints (big stripes with same-scale florals) is enough alone to put me to sleep. The structure is suburban-mcmansion big. I'll sleep on the lawn, thanks.

Love it, but where do you keep this thing in the Winter?

I vote to remove the arms that connect to the base and let the whole thing rock on the four arms! Who wants to try it with me???

that thing looks so weird to me -- too massive, too pottery barn, too novelty. and i agree with jennifers -- that color green is played!

I love it, but yeah, wildly impractical, and I'm betting it's a fortune, so would probably never but it.

ooh this looks so inviting!

but yes it looks more like a fancy bed, not a hammock. and it's too big (and too heavy, looks like). maybe if it were lightweight (but sturdy and stable) enough to be transported to places other than your backyard... like the beach!

I like the swaying of a hammock, and this looks hard to get onto and out of. (It's over 7 ft wide!) so no.

I agree with jennifers. This kind of thing reminds me of saying, "You don't have a Chesapeake 4-Pole Hammock? OH, but you simply must! I don't know how we got along without ours." You know, with the clenched Lovey Howell jaw.

It looks inviting, but then you realize that it does not sway, which is the whole point of having a hammock. It is huge which can be a plus or a minus. I like to sway back and forth looking up at the leaves of the tree and letting my fingers dangle in the grass or pet the dog as he wanders by.

None of that is possible in this item.

I'd take the dog in a heartbeat, except I've already got 2 goldens and my boyfriend would kill me...
