Modern Hammock: Fatboy Headdemock

2008-04-04-headdemock_orange.jpgYes, it's still chilly and grey and cold...but we can dream of sunny summer days, can't we? The city is our backyard come summertime, as we don't have any outside space of our own, but if we did, we'd be sorely tempted to add one of these into...

.. the mix for afternoon siestas. It is a lazy nappers dream: a mix of a hammock and a beanbag.

Available in 8 colors, it is $399 at Design Public.

i agree with the person above. the nice thing about the mesh or single ply canvas ones is they have breathability.

The other thing is, have had a hammock as a kid growing up, I find the picture on the top with the 3 children on it ridiculous. First of all to get all 3 of them into that position in the first place would not be an easy task, but every time one of them moves it would start wobbling and beg to tip over. And if one of them wanted to get out, forget about it. Hammocks are usually hard enough to navigate with just 2 people playing down in one.

And where I live, the 90-100 degree summers would have heated the nylon enough that all three kids would scream and run anyway!

Can someone who actually has a Fatboy weigh in, because I've been curious about buying one. I don't think they're nearly as tippy or hot as people are imagining. (Also, since I live in Seattle, doesn't get that hot here. : )

i have the same setup, but with a cotton hammock. can't comment on the nylon/hot aspect cut i can say that it doesn't tip, and is SUPER comfy. you melt right in and it's great for afternoon naps in the back yard!

This stuff looks beautiful for the price. I love it. Very Beautiful light, adds class to your home, better than beanbags.

To cblis:

Are you saying you have a fatboy made of cotton or just another hammock?I am looking for a beautiful/modern indoor hammock and can't seem to find one. I don't want nylon or a fabric that has been chemically treated for weather resistance. Any help would be appreciated.
