The pretty-colored globe lights are just what I have been looking for. White ones will do but the ones with color are adorable.

The first one makes me uneasy. While I'm sure they're secure, the pots on the side look like they're about to fall.

I have those lights from Paris! There was a tiny store in Montmarte, and all they sold was the lights in a huge variety of colors. They are made of colored thread wound into a ball shape, and I think you could make them yourself.
