Outdoor carpets/fabrics are great. You can get some great patterns cheaper and they are super durable.
The only downside, from my experience, is they are quite thin.

There are fantastic outdoor rated, plush synthetics that are perfect for indoor upholstery in homes with pets and sticky kids that go through upholstery quickly. I've always loved the use of the Richard Schultz patio furniture lines indoors. Gnomes!
