Room Connections From Inside to Outdoors

Sometimes decorating is about stepping back and letting your home's good qualities shine. If you've got a great view to the outdoors, your home should highlight that view rather than detract from it. Shown above are five scaled-back rooms that lead your eye from the indoors out...

These rooms all have large windows and a walk-through connection to an outdoor space. Some have city views and others look out on a rural landscape, but in each example, the home takes its cues from the landscape. In a romantic English cottage, a vintage dining room overlooks a deck filled with potted plants. A modern home that looks out onto the highway uses a palette of grays, blacks, and wood tones. In a high-rise with panoramic views of the city, contemporary furniture with glass and metal accents evokes the skyscrapers outside the window. I would pretty much kill for any one of those views.

All of these are gorgeous! Makes me wish that I had a space like this.
