For those on a budget, outdoor furniture can often be a far off dream. They can range anywhere from $10 a chair all the way to $300 on up, which is why these great little diy pieces outside our local library caught our attention. Making them is as simple as digging a hole, placing in a form, filling and staining. Without a hammer or nail in sight, we think they would be a great weekend project!
This style of furniture isn't for those wishing to lounge for hours in the sun, but would still be great for a family picnic. The forms were stained in two different shades and tops were added. This set up also poured a concrete pad around each piece making a nice patio for someone to enjoy the shade of the near by trees.
Judging by the markings on the bottom of the table, the top was poured first, cured and then placed on top once the base was poured, secured, painted and left to cure. There are also angles along the top edge of the form, so if you try this at home, to achieve a more rounded edge we might suggest folding the edge of the form down slightly to give you the curved look your legs will thank you for.
It might not strike your fancy, but it's a great option for those who are looking for something that won't require cleaning each year or storage during the winter months!

an easier idea is to rethink your outdoor table - does it have to be at table height? you could consider doing a concrete "coffee table" surrounded by inexpensive patio furniture - here is a more advanced example - scroll down to the Exterior/Outdoor category - there is also a cool concrete chair, maybe not for the typical diyer, but fun to look at
