Totally dig the whole adaptive re-use of thrift store stuff most people walk right by or dump in the alley thang. With that said, I think Eddie's aesthetic needs to be tweaked a bit to lose some of its Martha-ness.

Makes me wish I had nabbed my grandmother's secretary.

Hopefully the person lucky enough to snatch it up at the Goodwill did something equally cool with it.

What's important to note, though, is that all of this furniture was in crappy condition beforehand, or was of mediocre quality. Painting a good quality antique would be a travesty.

Oh I love the side table as bar! But sometimes I like a bit of natural wood...those chairs looked kind of nice to begin with. Lisa, you know that you can refinish wood with stain, not just paint!

We as humans have clearly mastered the art of making furniture look new and clean by painting it white. Now, I issue a challenge to future generations: make furniture look and new and clean by doing something, ANYTHING other than painting it white.

wow, paint everything white. Sometimes painting things is good but seriously this tread has about 2 more years and then we are going to see posts about how to strip paint off of wood furniture.
