Last week we invited readers Before/After stories and photos. The first to enlighten us is SpaceMonkeyX, who spent five months bringing new life to their "disastrous" basement. SpaceMonkeyX saw a lot of potential in the super sport-crazed basement. With work still ahead (drywall, decorating, and finishing up the office and workshop), we are happy to present you with the great progress made so far. Thanks for sharing, SpaceMonkeyX!

Hope you guys like what we've done so far. It's a definite work in progress, though, as we still have a few decorating and design projects up our sleeves. Even in its current state, I think it's better than it was.
Did I see that slide correctly? Were those Tiki engraved TV trays?
That they are. I drew an original tiki design on the front and then used a woodburning pen to "trace" over the drawing. I haven't done the other three in the stack yet as I'm saving them for a winter project. Besides, I've had enough bigger projects to do on this condo to occupy my time.
Did you build the recess wall yourself? How was it done? Was it a big job?
We are thinking about building a similar recess shelve in our wall but are fearing the cost of the project...
