Color Tip: Paint the Door

10-2-08door.jpg

If you're one of those people who has a hard time bringing bright color into your space, painting the door can bring just the hit of color you need without overtaking a room. Exterior painted doors are commonplace, but interior doors in bright reds, blues, and yellows are more rare. A colorful door can make a neutral room pop, and it's easy to repaint if you change your mind...

I've always wanted to paint our main door blue ,or better yet get a real rustic blue Moroccan door (our home has all white walls and modern moorish interior),but never dared to do the paint and cannot afford to buy a Moroccan door .

Wow. I'm thinking of doing this and letting my HOA scream. I can ask forgivnes later. I'll have to check the rules and see if there's anything explicit about painting the doors. We can't paint anything on the outside.... but maybe the door could pass for inside. Hmmm. I wonder what color. Red seems the obvious choice given the grey stucco and siding.
