High-Contrast Rooms from Alcro

We know that black and white are big right now, but color can also be used in white rooms to achieve a high-contrast look. Swedish paint company Alcro is one of our go-to sources for inspiration, so we checked their archives for good examples. The room above pairs white with creamy yellow and deep, dark gray for a sophisticated take on black and white. Click below for more...

Pinks, reds, and purples make up the contrasting elements in this modern white room.

A deep, dark blue-green is a moody alternative to gray or black.

Bold red in graphic patterns creates a high-contrast room without dark colors.

That ovoid fireplace is somewhere in suburban Stockholm; the house was featured in Elle Decor a few years ago. The owner was a designer who had helped Alcro come up with the colors.

The two photos below have more typical fireplaces, a tile stove and a minimally detailed 30-50's fireplace.
