apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Paint a Photo with Olympic Paints

010909greenrm.jpgDigital coloring is never the same as painting a sample spot in your room, but it helps narrow down the pool of choices. Olympic Paints (zero VOC paint available at Lowe's) offers you the ability to paint a photo online. You can select any number of sample rooms and play around with endless color combos. Here, we went straight to the "modern bedroom," which by default was painted with Lemon Grass A68-6 (wall) and Black Magic D58-6 (accent). Then we altered it a bit:

010909bluerm.jpgAfter selecting the room, you just search various paint colors in different color families -- or you can do a specific search if you know the name of a specific color. Click on the point in the room you want to paint, then click "apply" and the screen will apply what you've selected. You can also save favorites and revisit later.

Sherman williams has the same thing and I think Behr lets you upload a photo of your room to edit.

Cool idea, but since you can't change the color of the bedspread, it wasn't much help for me.
