We loved yesterday's good quote from Peter York (perfect for the January Jumpstart). When he mentions painting a Victorian piece white and changing out the handles, we can think of a few times we've done just that. It's a decorating trick that almost always works...and you can apply it to a whole room if you want. Painting a set of mix-matched pieces white (or another color) unifies a room and brings together discordant styles. Bring in an accent color or two on the walls, on the floors, or with accessories.
