Over at AT:LA yesterday, Gregory wrote about Novelty Hand Soaps. We admit, we're in the camp that still loves bar soap, mostly for its packaging. We've been known to save soap packages and reuse them for gift wrap or small projects. We also know that sometimes the best packaging is none at all, so we've got some well-designed soaps with minimal packaging in the mix, too. Click below for our picks...
Left to Right, Top to Bottom:
• Claus Porto Ilyria Honeysuckle Soaps, $30 for 3
• Acqua di Parma Colonia Soaps, $56 for a set
• Mrs. Meyers Clean Day Soap, $4.99
• Bliss Urban Jungle Exfoliating Soap, $18
• Pangea Organics Soap, $8
• Pre de Provence Soap, $7.25
• Bee and Flower Soap, $8.79 for 12
• Dr. Bronner's Soaps, $3.99
• Brickhouse Soap, $9
• LUSH Honey I Washed the Kids Soap, $7.95
• Valobra Primula Soap, $10
I bought a bunch of soaps just for the cool, patterned wrappers at Old Navy Outlet, of all places, for $2 a bar. They rotate the look of the collection, and the scents are really good, too. I display them like books on a shelf in the bathroom.

Pacifica soaps are my favorite! They're beautiful and come in so many delicious scents. I usually also have Bee & Flower jasmine in my bathroom.

My favorites come from Fresh - their petit soaps and original soaps are wrapped in beautiful Japanese handmade paper with delicate ribbon/twine. I've given them as gifts, although they're just too pretty to unwrap.

I have used Fresh soaps in the shower for years and love them, but for gift giving and decorating my favorites are Unna & Co. (http://www.unnaco.com/index.php).

I recently discovered these at old navy:

Talk about pretty - love the graphic b&w patterns. I bought them to keep around as gifts, but I might have to keep them for myself.
