The Birdy by Elizabeth Paige Smith

080106birdy.jpgOn this first day of August, we have entered a wonderfully themeless month, one that is open-ended and decidedly not about pets. As one last nod to pet designs for a while, bbt, winner of the My Design's Dreamy contest, found this "Birdy." bbt got some great conversation going with her cardboard kittybox design, and she just discovered another design along the same lines. Here's what she had to say:

I just found that Elizabeth Paige Smith, designer of the Kittypod, also has a "Birdy" wall art piece [or a clawing toy] that's more affordable at only $85. Not bad considering if I had had to pay for my cardboard for our Kittybox it would have cost me an additional $65.

What do you cat people think??

(Thanks, bbt!)

seems a little small...my cat likes something the size of his (substantial) body or larger. but it's definitely cute!

I still think it's overpriced though...I want to see if more people start making these!

All the scratching posts I have seen so far are so ugly in my house that this new Birdy is very exciting and promissing...however, it still is too expensive, considering it is made out of cardboard and will not last forever.
I would buy it in a heartbeat if it wasn't so expensive...
