The Happily Ever Chair and Dog House

Just spotted in the design blogosphere...this Happily Ever Chair and Dog House by designer Kim Hyunjoo keeps you and pup close. Although not much of a lounging around seat (backless, small), we can see this working well during gatherings and parties that you want your dog to be a part of without pestering everyone for his/her lap.

We could also imagine the "dog house" being used for all types of storage (magazines, blankets) should you live in a happily ever pet-free home.

Oh, HA! Like any alternative seating/hiding place will keep a pet (in my case, cat) from trying to get lap time!

I find it interesting how people keep trying to design "special" furniture for pets. The only useful option I've seen (and modified for my purposes) is a hidden litter box cabinet of some sort. All the rest, like this one, seem vague and "why bother" to me. Either the pets will use the regular furniture, or they will hide/lounge UNDER the regular furniture, or they will go fo a lap... unless tucked into a crate or another room...

This is sort of cute, I guess, but it looks uncomfortable and I don't see any need...

My two chihuahuas can sit on the couch besides the other guests during parties and gatherings.
